Hey JD,

That is drop dead gorgeous. I love the peghead design and the back ... well, I can't get the superlatives out.

What does the OT on the fretboard stand for?

Thanks for the kind words. The O.T. is E.T.'s little brother! Really the OT is the initials of the guy who this was built for. And Oliver is very excited about getting it. We played it "in the white" and it plays and sounds very good. Fun to play too.... except a "G CHOP CHORD" Ain't gonna happen! Jd

That's just aweseome, JD... and there aren't a lot of (any?) F4 OM's around... I'll be really interested to learn how it sounds.

What's the scale length on that puppy?

Scale lenght on this "puppy" is 20.86" Not too short not too long....we will see! It felt good playing in the white, just certain reach's you have to change from mandolin form, takes a little getting used to but once you do you can play pretty fast. Jd

Looks great, John! I like the pickup cord through the bracing.

Here Ye Here ye... Let it be known that Oliver Thompson (OT aka Mediamaestro) will soon become the proud owner of this amazing instrument. #John and I have been talking for about 2 years about him building me a mando. #And for the past 5 or 6 months he's keep me in the loop every step of the way as the build progresses. Ive had first hand experience seeing and hearing all his mandos thus far and I feel like I'm getting the benefit of all his experience in this F4OM #7. #I also feel like the guy going home with the centerfold so I'll try not to gloat too much. I promise to post some sound files and perhaps some video once its done and I get to practice on it a little.
