Yeah, sure. Ive read about (and fully understand) MAS, but how about "WAS"? "Wood Acquisition Syndrome". Ive recently started to "attempt" building. First from a StewMac kit, and now from scratch (with both currently "in progress"). And now..... I search out, and then buy woods for future builds. Curly, Quilted, Sitka, Engelman, Adirondack, wood for sides, wood for necks, I have it all. And still, I search for more at bargain prices. Web sites, Ebay (done well there) etc. I believe Ive now reached the saturation point. But does anyone else suffer from this malady? #Is it a normal part of the process? Should I seek counseling?

In my haze I failed to realize that this should have been posted in the builders section. Please move if need be, or not.

Not a cure (as if one was necessary) but perhaps a little tonic to go with the gin:

MAS can sometimes be treated succesfully with a quilted Ellis F5, there is no cure for WAS once you've started down that aisle. "He who dies with the most wood, is still dead- quick, check todays luthier obits!"

He who dies with the most wood, is still dead
At least his shop assistant can build him a nice coffin!

Now I can see how Old Wave can make 6 or 7 at a time.

O Bill... Why? Why did you have to post this?
