I have a friend in Boulder who bought this mandolin new in 1978. I was over to visit and remembered to take the camera.
Very few people have seen this instrument. It is essentially a closet classic. Enjoy.

And the peghead. The trussrod cover was made by another very talented Boulder luthier, Bob Westbrooke.

The most unusual part is this mandolin is not numbered. The owner thought #17 rung a bell but there's no way to know, at least that I could find.

cool my buddy ari has a more less closet one too from 79 that mike made for his dad. uniquely it is an oval hole. only one i have seen.
