Whilst searching for some "new" material to learn, I was searching among the names of folks who I had listened to years ago, and Linda Rondstadt came to mind.
She has done a joint effort called "Adieu False Heart" which has a ton of "Cajun" music of a slower and more melancholy nature, on this particular CD.
One track I especially like is Track 4, "Marie Mouri" (I'm sure an older ballad), perhaps because it is a slower tempo and I'm a "slower" player, but in any case, a beautifully sad song.
Here's a link to the CD, and you can listen to Track 4 on your choice of programs such as Rhapsody or whatever.
