I am trying to practice Swing Tunes before the Symposium in a month. They emailed us a list of some of the tunes we will probably be playing.

My boyfriend made me a CD with some of the songs so I know what they sound like but I need sheet music. I'm thinking if I get sheet musice from a song book then that would be the part I would play?http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif My only experience playing Swing tunes on the mando was when we played the horn part of Night in Tunisia at the Symposium. I think that was the main melody so I am guessing that I would play the horn part in swing songs??

Still it would help to have music. If anyone has links to these tunes somewhere that would be great or if you know of somewhere that I can buy them (maybe most of them are in a book you know of or something) please let me know.

Here is the list with their keys in parentheses:

Matt Sircely of Hot Club Sandwich (who led the swing sessions last year) has a book with tab and notation of all these and more songs. You could get in touch with him through their website. I would guess he will also have it for sale at the symposium.

All of these tunes (save "I'll See You in My Dreams") are in the Vanilla Book (http://www.ralphpatt.com/Song.html). #Or, at least the changes are there.

See you in Santa Cruz! #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif
