Kinda tired of going belt buckle to belt buckle with a mic stand. #I have tried a couple of (low quality) pickups and on board mics.....not happy! # The on board mics liked feedback and the rest left out the stuff the mando has been developing for 30 years. #I have a mandobirdie, but that's electric and it sounds like it. That's another story.
What would you do for an acoustic F mandolin?.....

Schertler Dyn M, a quality contact dynamic microphone , swiss made.
there is a separate version to go built in , but I like the easily swap-able between instruments option.
[look in past threads, first piezos types are bought,
then a preamp to make them sound better, is aquired,
by necessity, negating low cost of the pickup]
seems rare that someone re introduces a well worn topic , by saying,

There have been a myriad of threads on this topic that the search function could drag up for ya, but I'll agree with mandroid on this one. I love my Schertler.
