Anyone know of a good luthier within a 200 miles or so of central Louisiana (East Texas, West Mississippi, Southern Arkansas)? Need some set up and fret work on a few mandolins. Thanks.

We may be a bit farther, but it is worth the drive http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif .

Anya Burgess is in Arnaudville LA, near Lafayette. She's primarily a violinmaker, but she's quite adept at fretted things. 337-662-3605 Tell her Groucho sent you.

Big Joe, I'm afraid a trip to Opry Mills would cost me a whole lot more than fret dressing and set up (probably the cost of an F5L - I have no will power). Thanks Paul, I'll call her this afternoon. P.S. this is a Great Web Site.

I use John Gathright in Foreman Arkansas. #He is the best at whatever you need in the line of repair and building acoustic instruments. He specializes in mandolin and guitar building. #He is a certified Martin warranty repair center. His phone # is 870-542-7544. #I guarantee you will be pleased with his work. I am attaching a picture of one of his latest mandolins. Hal Martin
