Here are a few pictures of my latest. It's been sitting on my rack for about 3 months now waiting to be polished and strung up. I was hoping it would do it itself, but no such luck. This one was custom ordered, but unfortunately the deal has gone south, so we're stuck together for a while longer... but no harm no faul, it gave me the chance to do a couple things I'd never done before. It's the first side bound mandolin I've made. My first one-piece back, which I've been excited about since day one. The ebony on the back of the peghead is also a first for me which fell into an ebony theme, with the ebony Waverlys and ebony point protectors (which I usualy save for the top bound models). And it was part of the first batch of oil varnished mandolins I've made. The flowerpot was also by customer request, I guess that'll be my last (I've read that thread before!) It sounds really nice, loud, great midrange and chop. Hope you like it!

You oughta be VERY proud of that! #A beautiful example of fine craftsmanship.

Pat yourself on the back Brad!

(I don't think that'll be hanging around too long! Someone will snap it up.) http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

Brad, Beautiful mandolin! I love that back! I would like to get my hands on some like that. The side binding is nice and the sunburst is perfect!!!

Nice looking mandolin!

that bridge looks cranked as high as it can go. What is the action like at the 12th fret?

I thought the same thing and it looks like the bridge base is pretty short. As a result the saddle may have to be raised that high.

Yeah, the bridge is a little high off the body. The neck set is a little taller than what it probably should have been, but I really can't dog myself about it being some sort of imperfection because don't think the mandolin has suffered at all in playability or sound. It sounds darn awesome compared to my older mandolins. But I'm setting the neck lower now. The action at the 12th from the bottom of the string is 1/8 on the G, 3/32 on the E.

The bridge is a standard "tall boy" from Steve Smith.
