I bought a Kent solidbody from a Pawnshop in Winnipeg years ago.I thought it was a mandolin untill I saw it hanging up in my instrument repair shop in between 2 other mandos. It's got some seriously cool things on it,and I have customized it so it rocks even more!First ,who would have guessed it would come with a radioused fingerboard in 69!? (That is THE weirdest thing about it!).I took off the machines, and customized a set of sealed gear Schallers to go on it.I also refretted it with guitar fretwire and, when everything is said and done, it's a rock n roll machine.I don't really like the scale, but the reason I did all the work was to turn it into a precision electric instrument.I wanted to be able to give it to a PRO electric player and he(?) not be able to find a thing wrong with it.I THINK I succeded.

OK, so it's not a solidbody, and it's also probably the ugliest mandolin ever, but still...

I wanted it! (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3722233929&category=10179&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBWA%3AIT&rd=1)

..Though obviously not that badly! Great price for one of these.. But I need another emando like I need.. another emando.

Snipers suck! 40 seconds? Sheesh.

Peter, don't know if you're talking to me or krishna, but..

If you want to see the thing I was bidding on, click on the link in my original post. I emailed the seller and he said the scale length was 16".

If you want to see Kents in all their glory (including the cool solidbodies I'm assuming krishna is talking about), click on this link. (http://www.geocities.com/kentking_2000/TheFabulousKentFrontPage.html?1009187334370) Enjoy!

Well shoot, it looks like if I get a Kent, I'll get chicks dancing for me at the beach! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I looked at the ebay ad, I was curious about the solid body.

Hey delsbrother!!!!
That is one great lookin mando.I love it!
My first Electric guitar was a Kent..( sort of looked like an es335.) Wish I still had it. It didn't have a tremolo bar so when we played "My baby does the hanky panky" I'd just bend the neck # http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
