Skip, that is gorgeous! For my taste, your color selection and blending is as good as it gets - on all your mandos. Of course, the workmanship is topnotch as well. Just beautiful! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Thanks guys for all the kind words! Andrew , yes those are the new Stew-Mac tuners. They are really stiff at first. I like their look. Lane, this one is a keeper for sure. The coloring is simple, vintage amber followed by reddish brown stain and then tobacco brown. The color is straight, no mixing with any other color. Thanks again!

Skip, very nice job. I found the Elite tuners to be stiff too.In fact when I tightened the screws down one E tuner didn't work at all. I had to back off the screw just a little. Never had that with Grover or Schallers. How 'bout you?

Gary, I have never experienced this with any other kind of tuner. I turned the shaft a hundred times it seemed like to loosen it up a bit. It seems better.

Ken, I hand stained the first two colors but the tobacco brown I airbrushed.
