want to post a pic, and have an editor program, but not sure which attributes to change to make it smaller for posting. i keep getting the "file to big" message when i try. what do i change?http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif choices seem to be : pixels, cm, inches.

thanks for your help. sorry if these seems silly. i can do internet, word proc. and email, and then i am just a computer dummy.

They are all the same thing only expressed in different units.
You need to change resolution. 72 ppi (that's pixels per inch) is all your monitor can display, so anymore is wasted when you post pics.
You also need to be within the size requirements as far as actual dimensions.

I don't know what program you have so I can't give you any specific help unless you want to send me your files to resize and send back.

ira,
set the measure control to pixels and choose either the vertical demension or the horitzontal and reduce the size to around 400 the other demension should just follow along that way you won't distort your image. Choose either vertical #or horitzontal based on which is the bigger for reducing the size. Also make sure that your file "name" for your image has a file tag with a ".jpeg" after the name or it won't upload.
Let me know if you need more help
