Andrew builds in batches of 4, so here's part 2 for your viewing pleasure. I'm hoping the other 2 will let us see how their's turned out as well.

A huge thanks to Andrew for exceeding my expectations and putting up with my ever-changing mind. I could not be happier with how this one turned out. Thanks also to Scott and Co. for hosting all this. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

And, thanks to Lane (JLP) who sold me a fine F9 and then pushed me over the edge to get the Mowry. My bank account is much emptier thanks to you Lane! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

WOW! If that thing sounds even a distant fraction as good as it looks, you must be psyched! That is truly one of the finest mandolins that I've ever seen. Andrew has it goin' on for sure.

Beautiful. I love the tortoise binding and purfling around the fretboard. It kind of looks like the Gibson Goldrush. Really nice!

Every Mowry I see on the Cafe looks top notch. I'd love to be able to play one sometime. His prices are still outstanding.

Anyone near Lancaster, PA own one?

Mark is the color of your mandolin Andrew's chestnut color? Great looking mandolin. Your daughter's design on the peghead is really a great touch. Lp

Steve and Mark - congratulations on some super-nice mandos. It's been nearly a year since I received the mando Andrew built for me, and I get a big old grin every time I take it out of the case. I know you guys will too. I'd definitely be interested to hear your impressions once you've played them for a bit. Lane, I KNOW you're loving yours, and I'll bet it's sounding great. Mandolins are good.

yes, Andrew used his chestnut stain. I was really taken with the chestnut stain on the mandolins on his website. It was fun to engage my teenage daughter with the headstock design. She was nearly as excited as I to see the final result. Dave, thanks for your input early on. It helped give me the confidence to proceed with the buld. nice to hear how pleased you remain with mandolin. mark.

Wow! I'm just getting used to how great my Mowry pics are, and then to see THESE! Fabulous. That new blonde varnish is spectacular, Steve- and the pickguard is just so elegant. Mark, your daughter's headstock design is something to treasure for a long time. I think we have the same slab of curly maple on our backs, too! I think Andrew's bindings are just amazing, and the skill required for great binding work convince me that Andrew is an extraordinary carver. John Woodard- where's your OM from "our" batch?

Gonna be a LOOOONG week waiting for the delivery, heh guys??

Great work as usual Andrew...though the instruments themselves seem to be anything but the usual.

And congrats to all the new owners. I know you'll be very pleased.

Mine arrived on Saturday and I am one happy customer. My wife is getting tired of my stupid grin. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

After tuning it up and playing about 30 minutes, the mandolin just came to life. The sound is perfect--rich and complex. And the detailing is unbelievably good. Andrew is part genius, part machine, and part wizard.

Couple more pics...

I own #11 and have had it for almost a year now. Everyone comments on the aethestics of Andrew's mandolins and I would have to agree they are amazing. But, I will have to say..............just wait till the sound really fills out! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

Pete how bout a few pics? I have #14. It will be a year old next month. It no longer has the new sound and has opened up rather nicely. What I have noticed as of late is how the finish has really tightened up. The grain in the top wood is more apparent compared to when I took delivery. I am looking forward to hearing some really good pickers get hold of it at MerleFest. Lp
