The Gibson website shows a A-5 (new) that looks like a fancy A-9.
The A-5 has ivoroid trim and fancier looking wood.
The A-9 nut is bone with satin finish, no extension
The A-5 nut is pearl with gloss finish, with extension.
I am NOT talking about the much higher priced A-5L.
I can not find the A-5 on any website other than musiciansfriend and their sister companies.
Have you or anyone you know ever heard or played it?
Is the A-5 just a fancy A-9 or does it have a different sound?
The A-5 looks similar to a Collings MT (A) with the ivoroid trim option but with less fancy looking wood.
Based upon pricing A-5 Gibson is charging substantially more for the trim than the basic A-9
