Just pulled this off Andy's webpage. 2 point #11. Beautiful and the colors match mine, would make a nice set.
Love the sandwiched neck as well.

Drool. Another beauty, Andy. Love the wood, hardware, and the contrasting flamed maple pick guard. Makes me anxious for my A model #?

Exquisite. Just nailed it on #11. Great vibe. Someone must be a very very happy mandolin player.

That is by far the most beautiful mandolin I have ever seen!! Why oh why do I have to be poor? #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

I only see 3 mandos on his site, is there a place to see all of the mados under the Poe name?

And is that an elite?

You can see all the Driftwoods but he hasn't posted pictures of the rest of the Poes yet. #Although many of them lurk here in the message board somewhere, mostly under the post a picture threads. #Just search POE. Judging by the headstock design I would think it to be a Deluxe but I may be wrong. That is some awesome figure on the back and neck.

It looks like you have the Poe #5. Do you have pics to post here?

Oh yes. #Try this link. #If it doesn't work just type Poe #5 in the search. #They are listed under the thread Poe #5 finished. #The good pictures are on the third page of the tread. #http://www.mandolincafe.net/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=15;t=36801;st=50 Just copy and paste the link.

Wow, that nice. This guy is an artist. Does he post here?

Rarely. Most of the posts of his mandos come from owners like me. Andy does beautiful work.

You know, if this kid could just get his hands on some
decent wood ,
I'll bet he could come up with a pretty good
looking mandolin !!

Another great looking Poe! I have #8 and it's opening up nicely. Tone is incredible for an A- oval hole.
Would love to hear a report on how #11 sounds.

There are a couple MP3 clips on Andy's website of #11 being played.

That is stunning! Is that a highlight on the bridge, or a contrasting piece of wood. Very nice work!

I just sent Andy my deposit for #20. In eight to twelve months it's going to be an oval hole F.

Details, eh? Well, I was thinking of something along the lines of a Gibson F2. Not too much ornamentation, and maybe a black top with a fairly traditional rosette. We haven't talked real specifics yet, but I want the neck and fretboard similar to that of my Rigel. I really want an oval hole F, but out of the mid range ones, Eastmans have that narrow nut width and I think MKs are overpriced. I decided to throw a little more money out there and get something much much closer to what I want. Now I've just got wait and save my money!

You won't be disapointed. Not to dis MK's or Eastman mandolins but this mandolin will be specificly and custom made just for you to your specs. Haven't seen to many other builders that offer the options that Andy does. It's great to see the in progress pictures that Andy sends, to see your mandolin being "born" is a awesome experience. Make sure and post in progress pictures when they start to come in.

Wowzer! What a mandolin!

I love the back color, and its contrast with the top. However, I almost thought it was a black top, but it isn't. How dark is it!?

Holy.... That is drop dead perfection, and I am a traditionalist but your work here is just splended, a piece of art for sure, and I assume the tone matches the looks. Jd
