I'd like to make my own unique mando strap, can anyone suggest a place to get a nice piece of leather, preferrably at a great price?

Don't know where you live, see if there is a saddle shop in your area you could buy some leather from them. they should have different sizes and weights of leather

Hmmm...a brilliant idea. By the way, I'm near Fort Worth as well. I'm sure in Cowtown there are many saddles shops.
