have been too busy to really get into this project thing, but love the concept. i've skimmed some of the threads, and there is mention of a yahoo site, and it looks like folks are sharing tabs and recording/posting their versions.

would love to get involved- how do i do it?http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

thanks,

ira

Doing what you just did ira http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif You are now officially involved.

Craig has started a wonderful project here for any and all beginners and interested parties. Each month, we vote on tune as a group and agree to learn it. When you feel that you have it where you want it to be, then you make a MP3 recording, and go to Yahoo Mandolin Project Group (http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/mandolinproject/) , register and upload your MP3 into the appropriate file. From there Craig will export it to The Mandolin Project Page (http://www.mandolinproject.150m.com/) where we all can download each others recordings and give feedback.

This group is very involved and the support is phenomenal.

Harlan

PS. Craig is on holidays for the next week and half, so there won't be any new recordings uploaded till he returns.

This is Cool! I like hearing all the different styles of the same tune, it's good for learning new songs. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I too have just discovered this project, how the heck I missed it during my almost daily review of the cafe beats me.

I will try to get involved, this is just what I needed, a support group giving me a push (or a swift kick in the butt works too! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif )

Hopefully I will attack Fishers Hornpipe for June, and I vote for Old Joe Clark for July.

Great concept, thx to Craig and everyone! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

allyson,

do you have a microphone for your pc? Or are you looking for a program to record yourself with? My microphone is an extremely cheap looking (well, it's actually very inexpensive as well) thing that came with some pc. Plugged it in, downloaded "Audacity" (a free recording program) and bam, i was in business.
