Looks like you're off to a great start! I like the idea of a rose design for the headstock inlay.

Very nice. Love the F holes too.
You're first pic has a bit of an illusion... it looks like the F holes go all the way through with that background. Cool effect!

Nice mandos!
"You can't use 6/4 chords 'willy nilly'" - can you explain?
The upper point on the body is a little different from the usual Gibson copy. It sort of has a rock guitar look to it. I like it.

Here is to the "You can't use 6/4 chords willy nilly".
Its just something that my theory proffessor at U of M said when we starting getting into 6/4 chords (chord spelled with the bass on the 5th of the chord). For example, G/D would be a 6/4 chord or G6/4. It is figured bass used primarily in the classical period (now were getting theoretical). 6/4 chords are usually only used in certain cadences and in specific situations, hense the quote, "You can't use 6/4 chords willy nilly".
-Brian DiBlassio
(Now were going to get into a 6/4 chord discussion)

That's some damn fine work.I usually don't like violin inspired mandolin f holes but I like yours.Great job, if you keep going maybe you can avoid getting a real job like the rest of the builders here. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Cary,
Try burning the file to a CD and then playing it on a stereo or CD player.

Thanks,
I tried to incorperate a range of dynamics and styles in the soundclip. The turn around time on one of my instruments is about 3-4 months as of right now.

Very nice work Dan. Those are the first bound F-holes I've seen that I didn't hate. Their shape is very pleasing as well. Your script name along with your modified fern inlay would make for a beautiful combination. Congratulations.

Dan sent a sound clip to me of him playing his #1. Very balanced sound, and a beautiful tone. He's also a pretty fine picker.
So much talent in such a young feller...
