Bill monroe and youtube

On this site Bill Monroe is often mentioned. I have one of his "greatest hits" recordings. But ... I didn't really get to appreciate him more fully until I could watch him live on old recordings via YouTube, which I discovered just a few months ago; this site was around much longer than that, I know. I don't know the purpose of this post, but I would like to say that actually viewing the performer really changes the whole way you approach his or her or their music. I liked what I heard on the recording, but I did not have any idea what it was like to watch the man play onstage.

Sadly, some of the Bill stuff that used to be on Youtube is gone. If you use Firefox I'd recommend getting an extension that lets you rip video from Youtube and getting as much of that good stuff as you can to keep until you can find the DVDs. A lot of good stuff has been taken down.
