Here's my #6 in the white. I have inlayed everything but the name logo. I'll do that just before I put the finish on. It sounds great. I like "James" tail piece a lot and he is a great guy to deal with. He also supplied the binding. I'm starting another F style "Lefty" today.

Bill,

Very nice looking even if it is backwards! Did you do all of the inlay? That has to be very time consuming.

Alan, I laid it out, cut out the cavities, and installed the inlay, but Andy DePaule supplied the cut pices. He is also suppling my name logo, but it's late getting here so I haven't put it in yet. He is also a great guy to deal with. I was cutting out my own inlays, but he does a better job and is much cheaper than I could by the material for and do it myself.
Thanks,
Bill P.

Love the top wood.I thought I use wide grained stuff. What is it?

Testor, it's old aged Engelman Spruce (Picea engelmanii).
Thanks,

That's a beauty. Love that vertical vs. horizontal grain on the back! The inlays look great too. I bought a TRC through Andy DePaule - great guy to work with! Keep up the great work! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Very nice! That'll look really good when it's finished. What color stain?

I'm not sure what I want for the stain yet, it may be brown with a redish cast to it. I'm still looking at others and thinking about it.

It's a tough decision...picking a color. So many look good, but you can only pick one (or at least one burst scheme). http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I like the 2-piece neck and the contrasting grain. As long as you don't paint it black, it will be very pretty. Black would be OK too, but that should be saved for plain wood, huh? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Bill can you do this color and back wood on that lefty? If so let me know where to send the check! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

I think I could come close to the color, but it looks like someone has already used that back http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

SJennings, I'm amazed with that poor picture I posted you noticed the two piece neck. I've done that on the last few and it seems to work great, only time will tell. This one has a two piece neck, two piece back and one piece sound board. No black is going on this one !
