Here is an A mandocello which I built along with a C# mandocello for Brent Hawley. First, the front

You can clearly see a knot in the top plate near the bridge foot on the C-string side. I get to keep the ones I make with "value-added" wood. Next, the back plate.

Uh, too dark again. Finally, a close-up of the headstock. No binding, here, just multiple veneers and a beveled edge.

Finally, I couldn't resist showing this. Don MacRostie put me onto it. Here is a set of Ni Schaller A mando tuners with Waverly ebony buttons. The screw holes in the Waverly buttons are filled with little cones of ebony made from fingerboard offcuts. So you get the nice conservative look of tuners with ebony buttons at a fraction of the cost of Waverleys.

Dave, that's a beauty. What scale length did you use? How's the C string? I'm thankful I have MCAS.
