Yowsahs!

Look at this thing of beauty. Sorry the pic qualities are not very good. Does anyone know how to change bitmap to jpg with good clarity? The pics lost their clarity during the export.

Don has exceeded my expectations.

What a beauty! #I'm envious. #Be sure to post pictures when the strings, bridge, and tailpiece are attached. #Is she getting a pickguard? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif

No pickguard for this'n. I see how it would fit in there nicely, but I've grown accustomed to not seeing/using one. I didn't even really think about it, honestly. I kinda like that bare look....

Nice, Kevin. I like the way the binding complements the color of the finish.

I love that headstock shape, jaunty is the word that comes to mind.

Juanty, eh?

1. easy and sprightly in manner or bearing: to walk with a jaunty step.
2. smartly trim, as clothing: a jaunty hat.
Having a buoyant or self-confident air; brisk.
Crisp and dapper in appearance; natty.
Archaic.
Stylish.
Genteel.

Yep, jaunty. All of those definitions work for me except for "archaic". That sir, ehem, is your word not mine.

It must be pretty close to shipping, when do you expect it on your doorstep?

Don wants it to cure for two weeks, then he'll ship it. I think it's a balance between how long to let it cure, and how quick to get it in the player's hand.

Mark Bluett once told me that the first three months are the most important, in terms of how the mandolin will mature/open-up. He said that's when the lacquer is settling, and playing will obviously influence the settling in some way.

I can't wait to see it in person.

Pretty unique, eh?

I can't wait to hear all about your jaunty little mandolin when you get it. Post lots of pictures, it looks gorgeous.

Another masterpiece by Don.

And no doubt it will sound even better than it looks (if that's possible!)

Congrads!
