Hi guys, post nugget images in this thread please, and serial numbers too if you can. I've started a Nugget collection (http://www.mandolinarchive.com/perl/list_mandolins.pl?all:1:4) at the Mandolin Archive (http://www.mandolinarchive.com)
Here's one to start things off, #94 which I should have in my grubby little hands not long from now..

I used to own this beauty. It's changed hands a couple times lately and I don't know who owns it now. It is one of the most beautiful mandolins I've ever seen. Workmanship was flawless. Binding appears to have been bent around the points. How did he do that? Serial #198

Thank you,Dan B. for including my Nugget #223 in the Archives. I hope someone submits the abalone-bound Nugget that has the female-figure and moon inlay in headstock! All of Nuggets mandolins are works of art IMHO;but that one must certainly be the crown jewel.

Dan, if you could find Ome #1 & 2, you would have 2 of Mikes first mandolins. #1 was an all-black F. #2 was a sunburst A, the prototype for Tims, and a real monster. I know, because I was the first owner. Should have never let it get away.

I don't know, but the #1 F was all black, not just the top.

The Tim O'Brien Nugget is (According to Mike) #3, though Tim calls it #2 on his site. There were a couple other prototypes as well.. hope to get images and sort those out!

I remember that he took pictures of Ome #2 the day I picked it up in 1975.

#91 is a cannon. It arrived with mom & dad by way of Scott Tichenor and mandofest (where Scott kindly provided me a pile of pictures of various people playing her before I got my hands on her!). It's extraordinarily loud, and has a lovely dark tone. I haven't even had a chance to change strings and tweak the bridge yet, it's quite addictive. Dan, was #91 made in Colorado or Michigan? I know that's pretty close to when he moved.
When I first saw Ome #2, the peghead only had "OME" on it, but when I went back to buy it, it had some vines and flowers just like on yours.
It says Michigan on the label.. Actually, you can see that on the label in my first picture of the face earlier in this thread!
