Walter Johnson is the builder and he's out of South Florida. #I'm going to check one out soon. #I found an old thread here and those that played them seem to enjoy them very much June mando thread (http://www.mandolincafe.net/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=13;t=22524;hl=june)

He's a super nice guy. #Here's his website #June Mandolins (http://junemandolins.com/)

Thanks all,
Joe

Hi Joe,

I've gotten to play several of Walter's instruments, both mandolins and guitars. He builds nice instruments and isn't afraid to try new things when asked by his customers. I think you'll like what you see and hear.

Joe White of Peter's Keys (http://www.peterskeys.com) plays a June. You can hear a couple of their songs on their MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/peterskeys).

I really like the looks of the A-style with those S-holes.

(Too bad he doesn't build a bowl-back -- if he did he could call it a "Junebug" ;)

Well I've had it for 5 days now. It's great! I'll post some pics in the appropraite forum in a few days. Playing a handcrafted mandolin is truly a whole new ballgame for my playing and inspiration. Walter Johnson, the builder, has something good going and I encourage people in the market for a new mandolin to consider a June.
