Did a search and looked at the tab of this song and have a question. What does the P A U & S mean in the tab? I'm just beginning so be kind if this is a silly question.

Don't know. #but it's easy to pick . #real easy. #Steve Earle told me in Lexington once that it's the first thing he ever learned on the mandolin.

the thing to make it sound right is to pick the chords while picking that little run. It's easy after you get a feel for it. Fun to do on a flattop, too in Drop D tuning.

I would suggest leaving out the high F# on the E string while swinging on the open D chord, it's sounds much better like that, especially playing solo....
