I have some pics of a family mando that I would like to post. I want to get some feedback. But the pics are 2M, well above what can be posted here. I have tried cropping, saving as jpg, everything I can think of; but to no avail. Any ideas or helpful hints? I really want to find out anything I can about this mando.

Fred, cropping would apply to the actual size; what you need instead is a reduction in resolution. Whatever application you are using should have some sort of "Reduce" function. Try something less byte-hungry. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I guess cropping was the wrong term to use. What I meant was that I tried cutting just the mando out of the pic and creating a different file. But I guess I didn't know what I was doing. I guess I need to explore the software more. Thanx for the help. I'll check the resolution thang.

Best of luck, Fred. You are right in trying to crop the mando into another file (if that is what you wish to do, as opposed to using all the backdrop, etc.) That new file, however, can be reduced at will; you know what I mean. Experiment with the software you are using. I am certain it allows you to reduce— they all do.
