Does anyone else use LaTeX for writing and have some macros for printing a mandolin fretboard they'd be willing to share? Google didn't really turn up anything but macros for chord diagrams above lyrics.

For the curious. LaTeX is a old, but extremely powerful typesetting program written in the late 70's, early 80's that is still very popular in geek circles.

I use LaTeX for user's guides, but have never used any of the graphics packages. I'm not sure what you're looking for - what's the difference between "printing a mandolin fretboard" and "chord diagrams?"

The GCHORDS TeX package has a define for the number of strings that you could easily change to 4. But then again, you're just getting chord diagrams.

My favorite LaTeX documentation is "Not so short introduction..." which discusses drawing lines, circles, etc. Maybe there's something in there that might help you? http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/info/lshort/english/lshort.pdf

Something a little "prettier" than a chord diagrams. Something along the lines of Jazzmando Chord Template (http://jazzmando.com/FretboardTemplate.pdf) which shows the dots on the fretboard and other such details. I haven't used gchords yet, but looking at it over lunch I bet I can modify it to get what I want. Just figured I'd ask before putting to much work into it.
