Man that is some cool maple there. Kind of has that slab Loar look to it. I wish I could find some maple like that. Very cool mando wolfsong.

Thanks everyone! I am Soooooooo pleased with how it turned out. The back and sides are popcorn maple and the top is sitca. Larry got everything just the way I wanted, now the hard part begins waiting for it to arrive! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Well talked to Larry tonight and my mando should ship on Monday! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif I cant wait for it to get here. We had a family crisis and had to hold off on shipping it right away but now that things have settled down I should have it the first of the week. I will post some opinions on the sound at that time.

well it was shipped Fedex overnight yesterday. I have been sitting home all day waiting only to find out that it has been stuck in Memphis customs since midnight last night. They tell me now it won't be here till tommorrow. AAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!. I am almost ready to get in my car and drive to Mempis and get it myself. Oh well whats one more sleepless night? Let ya know how things go tommorrow. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

I happen to live right here in Memphis and I'm a fellow Muth owner. Perhaps I should go down there to Fed Ex, sign for, play it a little, make sure everything is ship shape. Just a thought.

Feb-24-2004, 10:29pm
MDW thanks for the offer. I would bet you could get it here faster than FEDEX. If its not here tommorrow I just might have to take you up on it. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Well the overnight delivery I paid for has turned into 4 day it was sent to the wrong town about 2 hours away and now they are saying it will be here tommorow. This is driving me up the wall. How do these guys stay in bussness? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

Feb-26-2004, 11:03am
Man...That is a bummer...
Do you have any fingernails left?

Feb-26-2004, 12:00pm
Well they sent it from 2 hours away all the way back to memphis. Now I have no idea when it will be here and they keep giving me the run around.

Feb-26-2004, 12:29pm
Just got off the phone with the vice pres. of fedex said he would look into it guess we will have to see what happens now!

Feb-27-2004, 12:22am
Well, the mando has been stuck in a loop going back and forth between Charlotte and Memphis today. Due to problems and lableing screw ups on fedex end. Called the Vice President of the company and he finally got it held in Charlotte this afternoon. They are supposed to have a private courier drive it up here tomorrow. They also said they would refund our shipping costs (after we requested it). They've been making promises all week, maybe they'll keep this one. I think next time I'll just use UPS. Will keep everyone informed if it arrives tomorrow, if not will post another installment of the never-ending drama that my life has become. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

Well believe it or not it finally made it to me. I was really worried as I opened the crate but when I got it out there wasen't a scrach on it. I have been playing it ever since and I could not be happier! The fit and finish are great. and the sound is more than I would have expected in a new mando. It is really loud with a nice dry chop and the intonation is perfect. I can't wait to see how it sounds in a year! Thanks for all the kind words everyone and for letting me rant a little. I think I will go play now! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Congrats Wolfsong. I have been following this thread detailing your ups and downs, and I really hope it was worth the wait. From the sounds of it, you got a good one. Happy playing!
