Well, MAS hit and will soon be satisfied (for a bit anyway).
I have just phoned TAMCO and put a deposit down on the Moon mandocello/bouzouki/cittern 10 string long scale (25.25").
It should be arriving with TAMCO in August and won't be long till it arrives with me after that!!!
This is specially made for TAMCO and is the big brother to the 10 string mandola, tuned an octave below it (CGDAE) you get a mandocello (CGDA) and bouzouki (GDAE) all in one!!! With a 25 1/4" scale that low C (very low, below the low E of a guitar) really kicks out. The chord sound has to be heard to be believed but its also very playable for melody, though the standard cittern (above, described as Moon mandocello/bouzouki/cittern 10 string short scale 23.5”) would be easier to play melody on with its shorter scale length. In solid spruce and solid flamed maple it has Jimmy's usual sound, value, build quality combination and a heavy duty gig-bag, go for it its wonderful.
