I'm looking at a Gibson Mandola, probably from the teens and wondered if they all have the peghead logo? The pictures are all cropped and don't show the headstock. I've requested some additional photos. Thanks - Mike

Here is some information, but there's lots of ambiguities.

It states that the H-1 has the same appointments as the A-1.
But the A-1 had many incarnations sometimes having a logo, sometimes not.

That is actually a good question. I do not recall ever seeing a mandola without inlay. I also do not recall seeing one labeled as a straight "H". They seem to be at minimum H-1 and have inlay. I could be mistaken though.

I just got some more photos and the peghead GIBSON is there and a partial label visable inside. The price is good, but I had some doubts. I'm a bit more comfortable now. I've been looking for an afordable, to me, Gibson Mandola for a long time. Thanks for the help. - Mike

Darryl
There was an H-0 model produced from 1936-1943.
A Depression-era economy model with f-holes and a flat back.
