View Full Version : deluxe Kluson tuners on 60's Gibson F5

Have a late1965/early 66 Gibson f5 tuners work and get strings in tune however a few of tuners are harder to tune then others also one of the tuners is like shrinkage/deformed any recommendations on what to do??? should they be replaced http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif and would grover, schaller, or waverlys work and be better suited.thanks Brad

Brad...I always thought those tuners were junk but I know people that swear by them...I had them on a `50`s F model and replaced them and the repairman swapped me even up for the new tuners that he put on and he said they were great...so I guess it is a matter of choice, they can be replaced but you need to measure the distance between the holes and make sure the new set is the same....Willie
