Thanks guys, I just got this mandolin from John Irvine. I used to play a Kentucky SM180S, which is nice, but can't compare to this Gibson.
I'm new to MandolinCafe, but have been posting on banjohangout for several months now on the nowhereradio link. I've also got a website you can check out called panthercreekstudios at http://mysite.verizon.net/dknechtbanjo71. On it I've got a new CD of mine called "The Panther Creek Sessions" for sale and you can sample a few songs on it. I used my Kentucky on that recording, except for "Cherokee Shuffle" a great picker named Ashley Lewis played her Dearstone on that one.

Thanks!

Welcome to cafe, Doug! #It's about time! #For those who have not had the pleasure to meet Doug or hear him play, he toured the US and Europe as a multi-instrumentalist and original member of the band "Chris Jones and the Night Drivers" - #has won many contests playing Banjo, Guitar and Mandolin - plays in several bands in the Central Illinois region - has a few students - has appeared on many albums as a guest artist - and most importantly is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. # # # Glad to have ya, Doug and see ya next month in the 'garage'. #

Hello Doug,

Great picking! I enjoyed all the tracks. Your F9 is defiantly more pleasing to the ear.

Good luck,

Darrell
