Peter Ostroushko has several songs written out in standard notation and available on his website:

http://www.peterostroushko.com

One I heard on Prairie Home Companion and just loved it; he calls it "When the City of Angels Sleeps". A recording of the Prairie Home show is available on their website.

Since I don't read much standard notation and don't really want to learn right now, I thought I'd use TablEdit to write the whole thing out. A very useful feature of TablEdit is the "transpose"; since Peter wrote his out one octave low, I can just transpose it after writing it out. Voila!

Anyway, I'd like to upload the file to Co-Mando; do I need to get Peter's permission for this first?

Hey, Kelly Guy, my advice is to write to Peter himself. He's been known to answer his own emails. #Very nice guy, I might add.

OK, I emailed him. I want to correct a few things on the TablEdit score anyway, over the next few days. It's a great song to play, and just about the tempo that I can handle at this stage! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

It reminds me a bit of a Choro, actually.

Peter gave me permission to post the tablature. The song "When The City of Angels Sleeps" can be heard on an archived Prairie Home Companion show at

http://prairiehome.publicradio.org/perform....m (http://prairiehome.publicradio.org/performances/20020601/ram_files/12.ram)

The TEF file of both the standard notation and mandolin tablature is attached.
