I have a mandola of that style. It is or was made by Button Guitars. The tuners are a screw type which uses a loop end string at both ends. Mine is made with Walnut. It does have a great resonate tone.

Squirrels are terrible at leaving their mandolins alone - they always want to try a new setup. One squirrel I know is always trying a new nut, He says he's got a bunch of em at home stored up...
