Hi all,
Two questions:

1) I was wondering what difference those of you who've played/ owned Webers have noticed between the sound of their D sound holes and their more traditional oval holes. Anyone ever A/B'd them on the same model? If there's a difference, how would you describe it?

2) In a previous topic someone wondered whether or not the D holes would negatively impact the sturdiness of the top--anyone have thoughts on this?

God, I wish I lived near a proper music store so I would already know the answers to these questions!

Webers are built very well. No impact on sturdiness. Not sure about the differences in sound with D vs oval. I don't think the difference is huge. J

My favorite Webers have been the D hole ones. I prefer the sound over the ovals, although it is hard for me to put into words why. I A/B'ed a D hole Hyalite with an oval Gallatin and really preferred the Hyalite. The D holes Webers I've played have just had more presence. I would not worry about the top falling apart.
