Been borrowing a A mandolin with the shoulder strap coming from the neck to the end pin. It hits my left thumb and left hand. Have others been bothered by this?

Attach it north of the first A string tuning peg.

I wrap mine around the peghead, in the middle, between g/d and a/e string tuners.

Here is the best way to re-attach your strap. Take it off of the headstock completely. Attach it around the top of the body by going under the fretboard extension. This is much more stable, puts no tension on the neck and stays clear of your fret hand.

N.B.: requires that the fretboard not be right on the top of the mandolin,
nuevo A9 /A5L elevated fingerboard types only ...
what Ive got,20s As and a'50s A50 the tye around the fretboard, doesn't work ,
thats why I wrap mine around the middle of the peghead.
