Just received this yesterday and thought some of you may find it of interest. I wonderful sounding BowlBack mandolin. Singer of the sweet and Romantic Neapolitan music. I real treasure.

Nice bowl! Are you wearing Chuck Taylors in those photos? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Thanks mando_toss_flycoon.

Yes they are Jamie. I loves those sneakers. I can't bring myself to buy any others. I brought the mandolin to work to take the photos and had to stand on my desk for some of them.

You can tell I'm a Chuck Taylor man myself. I like the mix of Chuck's and all they imply with Clasical Bowlback music. Awesome. Very Nice.

I'm also a fan if the Chucks myself(pre Nike ownership). Out of curiousity, what year is your new aquisition. It looks very well preserved.

Neil, the mandolin is a brand new 2006. Just received it from Italy this past Tuesday.

Scott, I know from the discussions of your new Calace elsewhere that you're looking to have a setup done anyway. From the third photo above, it looks to me that the bridge is leaning forward quite a bit. That may down to the fitting of the base, or it may be that it has tilted and is now putting pressure on the forward edge. Straightening that out should have a major beneficial effect on tone.

Nice instrument, and I'm sure it'll be wonderful after setup!
