Just saw this tonight on our PBS channel; Earl Scruggs, Doc Watson, Ricky Skaggs doin some down home pickin.

All of em genius in their own way. Doc flatpickin up a storm at age 80 something, and the music Earl gets out a banjo is something to behold.

Say what you want about Mr. Skaggs, he knows his way around a mandolin.

They had Alison Krauss on the side, and she was her usual fantastic self both on vocals and fiddle. But, she looked tired, almost like she had the flu or something. I know she does appearances very regularly and just hope she's not spreading herself too thin. IMHO she's one of the nicest people to happen to country music in a long time; wouldn't want anything to happen to her. Guess I'm a fan

Anyone else see this?. It's probably a year old or so. We ain't exactly up to date up here in the igloos. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I've had the DVD for about a year now and I can still watch it everyday without getting tired of it. One of the best I've ever seen. I hope they get to do another one before...well...you know.

If you enjoyed the PBS show the DVD and the accompanying CD are good buys. I have both. The bonus features on the DVD are good (not better than the concert but good).

thats my "go to" DVD when there is nothing on TV to fill some time. I also own the CD so I can take the show on the road with me.

I absolutely love Who Will Sing For Me. #And Soldiers Joy, Doc's bass runs behind those 2 different banjos just knocks me out. #Yam, Yam!

Interesting that Soldier's Joy in done in C on that recording. Everywhere else I have ever seen/heard it was in D.

Cheers,
