Here is a photo I just bought of an earnest young man posing with his Regal. I believe this to be the earlier incarnation of the Regal brand which would be the brand manufactured by the Wulschner of Indianapolis, Indiana. The frame of the photo is actually stamped by a photographer in Madison, Ind.

What I find esp interesting is the bridge on this mandolin which looks like it has some sort of compensation. I ma not sure if this is original to the instrument or something that the player had customized.

That is mighty cool. Thanks, Jim. I agree that this looks Wulschner made. The bridge is intriguing.

And, of course, Samuel Siegel.

I thought you meant Siegel http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I think she would be about 125 years old now by my estimation. A little too old for you, Glen!

Thanks, Jonathan. I wonder who that first Regal player with the interesting bridge is. He looks like someone who take his playing seriously. I wonder if he is pictured in a Cadenza or Crescendo somewhere.
