here's the back. It's oil varnished and has my 100 year old wood. It sounds like it looks.

Very nice looking and with that wood I'm sure it's a talker too.

Ken, a fellow showed me one like that at the JP Fraley festival last year. Is that the same one? I was checking out a 21 snakehead somebody had just bought when he handed me your mando and asked what year I thought it was. Before I saw the logo I was about to guess twenties-thirties. Great job!

Wow! That's cool, Ken. I love the back and the colors.

no, I just finished this one two days ago. I've been distressing my mandolins since day one(1982), not all of them of course, but I've always had a great interest in that. This one is for Alan Perdue. I call it my DDM(drastic Distressed model).

Ken - that's a beauty! #It takes a true artist to make a brand-new instrument looke 80 years old! #And - knowing how your mandolins all sound - it probably has a deep, 'old' woody tone to it with exceptional volume.

I was wondering what you'd been up to - hadn't seen many posts by you, but do recall you mentioning you were going to be making a mandolin for Alan.

Looks good Ken.... I see where the folks at Smoky Mountain Guitars have one in stock.

So Ken, does my area have one of the most 'dense' (other than your immediate area in/around Elliottville, KY) population of Silver Angels? #Gotta be close... I personally now know of 4 of yours and 3 of Laura's... #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Yea Mark, I just sent a killer 2 point to Ronn Koel up there in Michigan. He loves it.

Now I know why mine looks like it's been beaten half to death. I thought it was all players wear, big mean player too. Or maybe it was. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

I love looking at your mandolins! I hope to someday have the money to get one.
