I just picked up the remastered version of Traffic's Low Spark of High Helled Boys on CD this last weekend. The main riff of the title cut, which can be played (on the mando) as Fmaj-Gmaj, Am-Bm, or Dm7-Em7 as long as you play the same inversions, is a lot of fun to just "blow" over.
This is totally unexpected. I have been playing BG, a little Jazz, and Trad tunes almost exclusively on mando. It's a lot of fun to cut loose for more than 8 measures!

Side benefit: my wife, not a BG fan, is a little happier about my mandolin playing. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
