I know i'm late, but i just put my version of sally up on yahoo...please let me know what ya think.

Mandolin: Fender FM-52E (not plugged in)
Guitar: Johnson 6 string

Did noise reduction to get rid of some hiss
Did a highpass filter on a couple segments where i must have exhaled into the mic

Mando is all one take except for one patch...can you tell which part is patched?

For some reason the guitar got mixed way down on converting to mp3, so turn up your bass to hear the rythm track...

i did everything i could to talk my pinky into those double stops but to no avail...so i left them out...oh well something to work on...

I can finally move on to the shuffle...i doubt i play sally for a while (hahahahah)

Jesse,

That was well worth the wait. Excellent!!! I really liked your variation towards the end. No wonder you had to wait. You had so many little surprises throughout the whole tune. I am listening to it again and again to figure out what you were doing.

This was really nice listening. You have a wonderful flow in your picking throughout the tune. You sound so relaxed! Wish I could play like that!

Thanks for the compliments, it makes it worth all the hard work and plethra of recording attempts just knowing that the other members will listen and give ya feedback and appreciate it (errors and all).

On another note: I gotta give credit where credit is due, thats a Bert Casey variation at the end...which was sort of one of my biggest obstacles for this project. Knowing a different version of the song already was really hard to overcome, my fingers always wanted to play the old version. Another funny part about the ending is that when i recorded my guitar track i accidentally put one too many verses in there so i had to do something at the end to make up the difference http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

i can't wait to tackle the ole cherokee shuffle...been wanting to learn that one for a while
