Here (http://www.bellsouthpwp.com/r/d/rdevelli/Gibson%20F-4.htm#Lloyd%20Loar) is an interesting site about Loar era (and earlier) Gibson mandolins.

When I click on that link, I get a page that reads "Access Denied. Bandwidth limit exceeded."

I think what's happening is that my ISP, Bellsouth, limits the amount of traffic that any customer's free webspace can accept in a given day. When a bunch of people go looking at once, their cyber traffic cop denies access.

It's been a while since I've updated my pages. Although most of the information still applies, there are some noteable anachronisms, like the suggestion that Loars may soon exceed $100,000 prices! I hope that I'll eventually find time to do some updating and perhaps move the pages to a different site where traffic problems won't be an issue. But for now, the day job plus some other more pressing matters take priority.

Well Bob, I think it is interesting that this is your site. I actually came upon it while looking for information about Howe and Orme mandolins, and I know that you have been known to share some of your research on Howe and Orme mandolins as well.
Cudos to you for your sharing your knowledge with us.
