Was this instrument discussed before? It is relisted. It's there only for one day, that seems odd to me. Looks nice, but there seem to be many fakes on the market these days.

Fake listing. #Michael Holmes bought it last month & has alerted people on his email lists (Old-Time, etc.) that someone has spoofed the original listing. #He still has the F-4 and it's not for sale.

Of course ebay does not offer any protection for wire transfer, they even advise not to pay with wire transfers.

Tell them you will be happy to pay 2200pounds. You can send them a check for 5000pounds and have them return to you 2800pounds.

I also mailed him. Same answer about payment. I asked him about more photos, but unfortunately it's already "packed for shipping".???

Aaah...I like the 'request for more photos' counter scam idea.

I just received a 'second chance purchase' offer resuscitated from a scam first tried on me back in November for a Gibson mandola I had bid on. This time they were proposing I purchase it (at a discount) through my EBAY CREDIT CARD which I could sign up for after providing 'certain information'. The b**tards are nothing if not tenacious, and creative I guess.

I wonder if kazoo and clarinet afficiandos have to put up with the same torments.
