I've already posted this to a headless emando thread in the "Four and Five-String Electrics" area, but in case you missed it...

Don't the tuning knobs get in the way?

Hi

I threw together a sampler (http://patricksportfolio.co.uk/mandolinsample.mp3) for the Headless emando discussion, so you can hear it for yourself. #
The mado's got #an electric pickup at the neck and a Fishman M-100 transducer bridge pickup, the first bit of the sampler is a G scale with just the magnetic pickup, the secondís the same with just the transducer, the thirdís a slow rendition of St Anneís Reel mixing the two pickups, the fourthís a bit of blues twiddling with the same blend, and finally some silliness with effects.

No (surprisingly), however, not having anywhere to put your thumb when you finger the first couple of frets is a bit of a problem.
