I agree with your thoughts on the dark coloring of the Yellowstone. It has very nicely figured wood but you have to have it in hand to see it.

I think it would have to be LaPlant #6 I got it as a gift for my 16th birthday. It is also my first top quality mando. People ask which one is my favorite or the one I play most often and it can change day to day.
