This the second year in a row I came home with a new mandolin from Wintergrass. I have wanted a Brock for years and the minute I saw this one I had to have it. It sounds as good as it looks.

I see I can't even spell Fletchers name right. Oops.

That back is gorgeous.

I love Fletcher's work. I have one of his blondes, a guitar shaped octave. You may have played it last year at Wintergrass.

If I had more money, I'm sure I would be tempted by the F5!

Hope you enjoy your Brock as much as I enjoy mine.

p.s. Do you have a close up of that headstock? Would like to see that inlay.

Congratulations, Greg! #Fletcher is a first class builder and first class guy to work with. #I picked up one of his F5's a few months ago and it really thumps on the low end and sings brightly on the high end. #Good lookin' Waverly tuners that function perfectly, too!

Cheers.

Spruce,
Would you happen to know were the wood came from? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Looks great. I like the veneer on the back of the peghead -- classy. Lp

"Would you happen to know were the wood came from?"

The Engelmann top grew near Lolo Pass in Montana....

The maple came from "another source"....

Great sounding/playing instrument....
Ya done well....!

Hey Pete,

Sorry I missed you. It's always fun getting together to talk, pick and just act like the mando geeks we are. Hope to see you next year.

Think I played that one at SuperGrass. I liked it. Wife was with me, so no chance to take it home. Anyway, I think mandolins choose us, we don't choose them (just a hunch). Have fun!

John,

It is the one from Supergrass. I spotted on a picture of Fletchers booth and just had to see and play it. And as the saying goes the rest is history.

Yo G.

Nice axe...shame you couldn't afford a sunburst one http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Re: your phone call on monday...

The strap is a longhollow softie. I like it 'cause I don't hafta chase the mando all over.

Hey Mark,

I wish I could have sprung for a stained one but the budget wasn't flexible enough. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
