In the parallel interests of expanding my CD library, hearing new music, and supporting virtual friends and acquaintances from the Mandolincafe, please...

-> reply with your recommendations for CDs involving other Mandolincafe members

-> tell us about CDs you perform on

NB: I started a similar topic a while back, that morphed into a very helpful thread on mando-centric CDs in general; I hope to keep this new thread focused on CDs recorded by or involving ManadolinCafe members.

I answered the original thread, but in since we are starting again with a clean slate:

"Little River Stomp" by the Buckhannon Brothers: Curtis B. is a Cafe' member. You can check out a cut from the CD on the Cafe' MP3 page. The CD is excellent. It is great, joyous, instrumental music, played mostly on just mando and guitar. I think it expands the definition of what old time music is and what the mando can contribute to OT. The CD is only available from the following website:

"Shatter the Calm" by Dan Beimborn: Dan B. is one of the Cafe' administrators. All Celtic mando and bouzouki instrumentals. Really great! I am playing this CD a lot lately.

Ditto on "Shatter The Calm" and also Kevin Mcleod's
"Springwell."

My band recorded a CD about a year ago. It has more of a live sound. Pretty amateur but we have almost sold out and are looking to do another one. You can hear a clip from the CD on the newsletter page of our website.JD's Legacy (www.jdslegacy.com)
