Split Lip Rayfield cancels tour dates

Sad news for SLR and their fans. The guitarist, Kirk Rundtrom has cancer. There are a number of benefit concerts coming up to help with the cost of treatment. If you're not familiar with their music, they are from Lawrence Kansas and play a very high energy bluegrass (almost punk influenced). MANDO content - a guy named Wayne Gottstine used to play mandolin for them (he was a great player and writer).

That is sad. I saw them 5 or 6 years ago in Santa Barbara, warming up for Del McCoury. A bit of a strange pairing, but they were a lot of fun. I'm pretty sure Wayne was playing mandolin for them at the time.
