Your local music store has a section where it sells music books. If you look in the section for easy organ songs there should be books that are titled "Songs of the 40's" & "Songs of the 50's", etc. These have simplified melodies. They are not in mandolin tablature but each note is marked with it's letter value. The "E" note has an E in the body of the note, the "C" has a C in the body of the note, etc. If you know where those notes are on your mandolin fingerboard, you can easily pick out the melody of the song. These books are published by the Hal Leonard Co. The number on my 40's book is HL00101933. The number on my Jumbo Songbook - 247 Songs for all Occasions is HL00100453 and its ISBN number is 0793564298.

I've learned a lot of good old songs from these books and they have been easy to use. #Good luck.
