Help! Lost b flat, due 2 a rising

well, I wondered why I suddenly lost my B flat on the e string ! here it looks like the side of that fret wire (closest to the E string) is actually rising up out of the fret board. it is no longer even and in line, or behaving like the other fret wires . Can I fix this myself ? C Clamps, glue , or what ? I'd rellay like to fix this my self -- i have a pretty complete woodwork shop (but never did mando-work in it..) taking this mando in for a pro repair will cost me 2 weeks of playing time.... http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

Take the strings off, and see if it has indeed risen. Lay a good straight-edge over the offending fret to determine this. If it appears so, scrutinize that fret closely under good light and even with a magnifying glass, if available. Look to see if it has come up from its seat. Tap it back down if so, gently, with a light-weight hammer over a hardwood scrap. This should reseat it. If the problem persists, consider SuperGluing it into that slot. You should be okay after that.

well, thanks for the info. that fret certainly has risen but only on 1 side. . i was reluctant to try gluing the fret wire in in , as it might not release the fret when time comes to change them... I will try some gentle pounding .....:blues:

If you can visually see that you can push the end of the fret down down put a spot of THIN superglue on end of the fret (it will wick in)and continue holding till dry. If it needs to come out the glue can easily be broken down with touching the fret with a soldering iron. You should check it first with a short staight edge as stated.
